The government has not yet made any important announcement regarding the chairman of the commission nor has any clear information come out, but according to the news, a circular was issued last month in which information was given about the government’s proposal to recruit about 35 posts on the basis of appointment and applications were sought from eligible government employees. Apart from this, many discussions were also going on to finalize the media TOR.
The biggest question is whether the 8th Pay Commission’s deadline of 1 January 2026 will be completed and whether a big decision can be taken in this regard or not, discussions are also going on about it, but the tenure of the current 7th Pay Commission will end on 31 December 2025 and later big announcements can be made regarding the Eighth Pay Commission and if we look at the process of the previous Pay Commission, then usually it takes 18 months to implement the recommendation and it is possible that in the coming days an even bigger decision can be taken regarding the 8th Pay Commission.
